The gravitational field, electric field and magnetic field are fields of force of the respective kinds. In fluid flow, the distribution of velocity (speed and direction) of fluid elements constitutes a velocity field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pictures in this series draw inspiration from the physical concept of a field and its visual representation in the form of field lines (for example, streamlines which show the flow in a current of air or water).
